Undead Defense Tycoon 2 How to protect your base
Mines that restock, sentries that eat cash, stairs that invite Giants.
Your plot is the respawn, the gun wall, and the garage door. How to protect it in Undead Defense Tycoon 2 is a pad order: walls, floors, minefields, sentry, then — much later — mercenary stairs you must respect. This is not tower defense with pathing decals; undead walk the forest and will use any hole you buy.
Walls and floors
Buy barriers first — getting started. Second floor is height; Jumpers and Phantoms still cheat. Lights are not HP. Base Colorizer (R$249) is paint.
Minefield — best free AOE
Tiers at $9k, $19k, $29k. Mines explode, leave a hole, restock for $0. You cannot pay to refill faster. Zombies can miss them. Still the best early horde tool and the core of AFK — script safety would rather you use this than a knife loop.
Sentry Gun — $38k
8 damage, one target, $2 per round (~$300 to fill). If you walk away 30–45 seconds it slowly restocks one round per second. It will not save you from a King smash. Park it to cover the approach, not as your only DPS.
Auto-Fill Turrets (R$599) refills sentries for free on a timer — gamepasses. That pass is the official auto farm.
Paid turrets
| Defense | Cost | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Super Sentry | R$599 | Faster, longer range, more ammo. Hidden until you reach the pad in the tycoon. |
| Rocket Sentry | R$799 | 4-rocket volley, huge range, AOE. Same “reach it in the tycoon” disclaimer. |
Both are S-tier if you already unlocked the slot. Buying the pass early does nothing until the plot catches up.
Mercenary stairs are a hole
The mercenary pad ($480k, after Lab, third floor left) builds stairs to the ground so the NPC can leave. Zombies can climb those stairs. Command the merc to Defend if you are driving — Weapons Lab. Level table is there too.
Vehicles as walls
Parking a Tank in the driveway blocks some pathing and some of your own exits. Armored Humvee is not an auto turret anymore. Heli on the roof is not a sentry.
AFK recipe (vanilla)
- Walls + full mines + sentry loaded.
- Optional Auto-Fill pass.
- Character inside, not on the helipad.
- Accept that Jumpers exist.
- Do this on normal, not Hardcore, until you like Alphas — events.
The mid-article gameplay video is a long real session so you can see a lived-in base, not a schematic. After it, spend leftover cash with the upgrade path instead of a third color of wall light.
If King is up, protection means range and First Aid, not more mines — King Zombie. Mines do not leech-heal you.
Coverage angles
Place mental “lanes”: forest approach, merc stairs, garage mouth, roof for Jumpers. One sentry cannot see all four. Mines want feet. Rockets want clumps in the trees. If you AFK facing the wrong way, Fast Zombies will farm you. Rotate the camera once before you tab out.
Repair economy
Sentry refill at $2/round is the quiet cash leak. If you are always empty, you are using the gun as a crutch instead of playing M60 — weapon tiers. Auto-Fill is for overnight, not for a five-minute snack break. Mines leaking because zombies “miss” is normal; add a second ring when you can afford T2/T3 rather than rage-buying Colorizer.
Friends can stand on your roof with a repair tool for vehicles parked as makeshift gates. That is allowed. Standing on rotors is how helis die — vehicles.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Do mines cost money to replace?
No. Empty spots restock automatically for free. You cannot rush that with cash.
Why is my Super Sentry missing?
The pass object only appears after you reach that pad in the tycoon progression.
Should I buy mercenary early?
Only after Lab. The stairs can leak zombies into the plot if you leave them unattended.
Sentry vs mines first?
Mines first for AOE and free restock. Sentry second for single-target while you are away.
