Undead Defense Tycoon 2 How to play the Devastator tank
Endgame metal for King, hordes, and Zombiepedia — not a free HUMVEE code.
The Devastator is the late-game tank people mean when they say “I finished the garage.” It is not a code vehicle, not a Hunt badge, and not the Flamethrower Tank gamepass. This page is how to get it in the buy order, how to fight King and hordes from inside it, and when to leave it parked because a Tough boulder will humble you. Read it next to the vehicles guide (garage / heli) and vehicle tiers.
The video in the middle is a real Devastator session that also walks Zombiepedia and horde nights. One embed, mid-article. Do not confuse it with the helicopter update clip on the vehicles page.
How to get the Devastator
- Claim a live plot and finish walls / M60 / mines so you still have a base if the tank dies — getting started.
- Unlock the garage from the second floor after barriers. You do not need every car, but you need the building.
- Unlock Weapons Lab if you also want the heli path; Devastator itself is a garage-end pad, not a Lab hologram.
- Pay the Devastator pad and the spawn cash every time you pull it, same rule as Tank / Missile Truck / heli. If you are broke, the cash planner exists so you do not spawn it for a Mini.
- Ignore codes. HUMVEE was a Humvee, expired, and redemption is off. Hunt’s 150-egg badge does not spawn this hull — badges.
Upgrade path parks Devastator after sentry, M60, Lab, mercenary, and heli — not before lights. A painted wall still does not stop a King smash.
What it is for
- King Zombie: sit at range, let Missile Truck cousins and this hull dump damage while a mercenary holds Defend. Laser rifles from Lab chip the robe; the tank is the bunker. First Aid still matters when you peek leech — King guide.
- Horde nights: dense mixed packs. Devastator is the clean answer unless the callout is all Toughs. Toughs throw vehicle-killing rocks. Heli becomes bait; this tank is slower bait. Get out and rifle.
- Zombiepedia / collection: the linked video treats the tank as a rolling encyclopedia run. Use it to inspect named undead without standing in Toxic aura. Cabins do not save you from Toxic — zombie tiers.
It does not out-DPS an attack helicopter’s minigun in a vacuum. Heli wins air. Devastator wins “I refuse to eat a Spitter while looting a crate.” Pick the tool.
Spawn tax and death
Garage pulls cost cash. Dying in the tank can dump you next to a Boomer with no hull. Plot pads stay. Held care package guns may not. Do not AFK inside it overnight expecting Auto-Fill to refill a tank — Auto-Fill is for sentries, gamepasses.
Flamethrower Tank is a separate Robux hull that explodes on death. Cool screenshot. Worse economy. Buy Economics+ before a fashion tank.
Tough, Void, Spitter — the anti-armor list
| Threat | Why the Devastator cares |
|---|---|
| Tough / Alpha Tough | Boulders hit vehicles, including this one |
| Void | Teleports onto hulls; strafe or bail |
| Spitter | Heli and armor both eat spit |
| Boomer | Do not ram; death boom hits the chassis |
| King smash | Ground pound hurts surrounding vehicles |
If the server is a Tough horde, park it. M60 + mines + base defense is the adult answer. Scripts that “auto repair vehicle” are still ToS — scripts.
Versus helicopter
Heli: infinite minigun, six rockets on a 10s regen, two seats, landing heals on the pad. Weak to Tough / Spitter / Void. Devastator: ground bunker, worse mobility, better “I am sitting on King with a merc on Defend.” Own both before you argue. The vehicles page teaches heli keys (F rockets, E/Q altitude). This page exists so the tank is not a footnote under “then Devastator.”
Hardcore
More Alphas. Alpha Tough can out-stat King. Do not take a fresh Devastator into Hardcore as your first purchase on a wiped plot. Live fortress first.
The buy-home truth: Devastator is a win-more pad. If your sentry is empty and your walls are wood, it is a coffin with a cannon. Farm Alphas, finish Lab, then pull it for King nights.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Do codes still give a Devastator?
No. There are no active codes. HUMVEE was a Humvee and is expired. Redemption is off.
Is the Devastator better than the attack helicopter?
Different jobs. Heli wins air and King chip. Devastator wins ground bunkers. Tough hordes punish both.
Does the Hunt badge unlock it?
No. The 150-egg Hunt badge is cosmetic progress. You still buy the garage pad.
Should I spawn it for every fight?
No. Spawn cash is real. Save it for King, typed hordes that are not all Toughs, and Zombiepedia runs.
Does Auto-Fill refill the tank?
No. Auto-Fill Turrets refill sentries. Garage vehicles pay spawn cash and take damage the old way.
