Undead Defense Tycoon 2 Weapon tier list
Buy order and combat rank for every gun, blade, and crate drop.
This weapon tier list is the spend chart for Undead Defense Tycoon 2. Prices below match public wiki figures (they can shift after a silent pad tweak). Use it with the upgrade path and the Weapons Lab guide. Crate-only guns are marked. Group Sten requires the Box Games group.
S tier — finish the map with these
| Weapon | Cost | Role |
|---|---|---|
| M60 | $17k | First “I can hold a hallway” LMG |
| M61 Vulcan | $316k | Spin-up minigun, 200 rounds |
| Photon Repeater | $2.2M | Lab minigun, ramps, slow overheat |
| Railgun | Tier III crate | 150–750, explodes, 1-shot heat |
| Combat Drone | Tier III crate | Extra gun that follows you |
M60 is the most important purchase on the list. Everything before it is a bridge. Vulcan and Photon Repeater are endgame spray. Railgun is a King-delete button if you land the hit — see King Zombie.
A tier — worth the pad
| Weapon | Cost | Role |
|---|---|---|
| AK-47 | $2.62k | First rifle that respects Alphas |
| Tommy Gun | $7.22k | 50-round bridge into M60 |
| SPAS-12 | $78k | Horde shotgun |
| Laser Blaster | $492k | Lab AR, overheats |
| Laser Rifle | $565k | Lab sniper, ~5 shots |
| Plasma Sword | $649k | Best melee if you insist |
| Energy Cannon | $773k | Lab shotgun, 4 bursts |
| Freonthrower | $1.35M | Slow + burn, hits Enraged |
| AUG | Tier II crate | Scoped AR |
| Zapper | Tier III crate | Chain lightning |
B tier — situational
| Weapon | Cost | Role |
|---|---|---|
| Shotgun / Trench gun | $250 / $3.16k | Close trash |
| .50 Cal | $58k | Slow, hard hits |
| Katana | $108k | Fashion melee |
| Incendiary set | Tier II crate | DPS over time |
| Cryo Grenade | Tier II crate | Freon in a lump |
| Revolver | Tier I crate | Better pistol |
C tier — buy then replace
Pistol (free), SMG ($40), Assault Rifle ($130), Sniper Rifle ($500), M1 Garand ($1.25k), Knife ($75), Machete ($950), Tomahawk ($12k), Sten (group, free). Sten is a free A-tier early gun if you joined the group and rejoined the place. Otherwise it is a C on this chart only because you might not have it yet.
Care-package and festive extras
Festive Vulcan (December crate) is an M61 with nicer tracers. Incendiary Pistol / Shotgun / Rifle / Sniper add burn ticks — strong on Regen and Enraged. Full drop tables: care packages.
Combat notes that change rank
- Headshots still matter on Guard Zombies until Hardcore Alpha Guards (those resist them).
- Boomers: do not hip-fire a shotgun in their chest. Back off; SPAS or a rifle from range.
- Vanguard: break the shaman first, then the shield tank — zombie tiers.
- Overheat: Lab guns are S/A only if you release the trigger. Holding Photon Repeater through heat is how you die to a Chaser.
- Ammo+ gamepass (+30% mag) promotes Tommy Gun and M60. It does nothing for energy weapons.
What not to buy
Do not dump $108k on Katana before mines and a sentry. Do not buy every floor gun “because it is there” — the cash planner shows the same dollars in a Tank. Melee after Plasma Sword is a flex, not a strategy.
For garage metal, switch to vehicle tiers. For first-hour order, getting started still beats any S-tier daydream.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Is the Sten good?
Yes for a free group gun. Join Box Games, rejoin, and use it until AK-47.
M60 or .50 Cal first?
M60. The .50 Cal is a pick for Alphas and King weak points after you already spray.
Does Ammo+ affect lasers?
No. Lab weapons recharge or overheat. Ammo+ helps mag-fed guns.
Where do I get the Railgun?
Tier III care packages, not a floor pad. See the care package guide.
